  11. When you run the program, you'll be asked for link parameters; in particular,
  12. COMB6 will ask:
  13.  
  14. TRANSMITTER NAME: <The name of the Transmitter Site, only for your information>
  15. RECEIVER    NAME: < "    "     "   Receiving   Site  "    "    "      "       >
  16.  
  17. ENTER TX LATITUDE, IN DEGREES.MINUTES  (N +, S -)
  18.    <You must enter the geographical latitude of the TRANSMITTER; for the 
  19.     northern emisphere, the sign is positive; for the southern emisphere, the
  20.     sign is negative>
  21. ENTER TX LONGITUDE,IN DEGREES.MINUTES (W +, E -)
  22.    <You must enter the geographical longitude of the TRANSMITTER; longitudes
  23.     west of Greenwich (UK) have a positive sign (e.g. Usa); east of Greenwich
  24.     the sign if negative (e.g. USSR)>

  36. After this, COMB6 will calculate and display on the screen the DISTANCE between
  37. transmitter and receiver and the BEARING (angle from the North) with respect to
  38. the TRANSMITTER. 
  39. Afterwards you'll be asked for:
  40.  
  41. ENTER MONTH (1-12):   <This is the month you want the predictions for>
  42. ENTER SUNSPOT NUMBER: <The mean montly sunspot number, CRITIC for predictions>
  43.  
  44. COMB6 will evaluate the lowest order F-Layer mode (the minimum number of
  45. "jumps" on the F-Layer requested to connect the two sites) and the angle of
  46. elevation (from the horizont) for the transmitting and receiving antennas.
  47. After, it will ask:
  48.  
  49. TRANSMITTER POWER IN KW : <The power of the transmitter, in Kw >
  50.  
  51. The unabsorbed field strenght at the receiving site will then be displayed;
  52. this is the theoretical maximum signal you'll experience at your site, in the
  53. hypothesis there is no attenuation from the E and D layers.
  54.  
  55. To go on with calculations, you'll have to type C (& Return) and then you
  56. can choose if you want to:
  57.  
  58. ENTER UNIVERSAL TIME IN HOURS   <Prediction for a sigle hour of day>
  59. FOR EVERY EVEN HOUR TYPE  25    <Predictions for all even hours: 0, 2, 4, etc.)
  60. FOR EVERY ODD  HOUR TYPE  26    <Predictions for all odd  hours  1, 3, 5, etc.)
  61. To EXIT TYPE 27                 <Quit COMB6 and return to BASIC>

  64. Please note: you'll NOT be asked for frequency, since COMB6 makes predictions
  65. for ALL broadcasting bands, from 75 up to 11 Meters Band. You can easily 
  66. modify this, anyway.

  70. Note:  COMB6.EXE uses NO graphics, so no matter what kind of display you have.
  71. You MUST HAVE A PRINTER, since the propagation predictions are routed to it.
